Only in Russia cars arrive to their owners a month late and looking like this:

Only in Russia car owners dont give a and drive their cars in the middle of winter back by themselves:

Ooops thats some throttle lift oversteer for ya! Anyone who said lotus was pretty bad in that department has to be kidding! Anyway the road was pretty dry in most places, the trip was around 60 miles... So no big deal... Just dont rev past 3k.

And of course a multi hour cleaning session afterwards:

Would greatly appreciate if you guys answered some of my questions... Although the car is perfect on the outside there are a few issues... Namely:
1. Rattling sound from the back on idle, neutral and upto around 2000-2500rpm. Disappers after that or when depressing clutch.
2. Slightly rough idle at around 900-950. Seems a bit high? Should it be a little rough?

Another question - is RON98 of avarage quality good enough?

Fantastic - could be an interesting article for one of the motoring publications. I would assume 98 RON is ok as thats what most petrol stations in the UK use with only a few Tesco's having the 99RON. I do not know enough about the CGT to comment on your other issues although i guess someone will be along to help.

The single mass flywheel lets more of the transmission rattle noise through -this cleans up over 2K rpm. The idle should be fairly stable once warm...
As far as fuel, these engines feature advanced knock sensing and you can put virtually any old sh!te in them and be safe, certainly down to 91RON.... Enjoy smile

Secondly, I have to ask.. how the hell did it end up looking like that?

I think it looks fantastic in the first pictures - congratulations on using the thing properly. I think I`d be tempted to keep it filthy!

That was also my understanding of the facts in the initial post..... And wherever I lived, if the CGT was delivered a month late and in that state, I would be having a 'word' with my local well built friends!

Hey Allan wink nah ill still use the beemer for that... I guess Elise will be for rush hour, questionable places and hard track action, CGT for everything else smile
