Has anyone run there rear tyres right down to the minimum ?. Mine are just about there & I'm getting 'Low Traction' appearing on the dash !

Yes so do I. Personally I’d prefer to see “High Traction” displayed on my panel. 1.6mm is not enough, apparently tyres on Police vehicles get changed at 3mm and that’s what I did last time, what’s good enough for them is good enough for me.

The general advice is anything below 3mm and your wet traction starts to fall off quite quickly, plus in this temperature less tread block means more time to get the important heat into the tyres.

On a big powerful car like a Monaro I'd be throwing on a soft 'premium budget' tyre like an Falken FK452 or Toyo T1R for the winter.

I've just placed an order online for some FK452s which appear to be an utter bargain - if they turn up as priced, I'll post it up here soon as!

Just fitted new boots on mine... Toyo T1R proxes.
Had them before and I must say in the cold/damp weather we're having at the moment they are fantastic!
The price is nothing to write home about... 18" CV8 wheels, 235/40 front, 255/35 rear, £550 fitted. I have since found them cheaper, next lot should be under £500.
Try this... www.tyretraders.com/
