bit of a crap thread this, but has anyone else noticed the similarity between, 80's rally man Tony Pond, and 21st century racer James Thompson... has Pondie's spirit been recreated in Thommo?

Its a good point JT does have phenomenal car control, when ever other racers have spun Jimmy is gassing it up to hang on to some remarkable slide!! It is a scary resembalence.

pondie was indeed a hero, but if you base it on his results, what did he actaully win? he was always in unfancied equipment, whereas thommo has at least won 2 btcc titles, and was pretty competitive in a private alfa this year. additionally pondie was a rally man who raced, and thommo is a racer who rallied.

they look the same and drive the same. imho
