Great links thumbup I don't think my neighbours would approve of that starting up at 6:30am.
Reminds me of a cross between Knight Rider and Thunderbirds.

Fantastic sound! But I'm guessing the fuel economy isn't great?

How much horsepower do those things put out...

That Datsun has an Allison 250 turboshaft from a Bell Jetranger. It is a very small engine, and has been put in a motorbike Click or Click.

I have had a long term desire to put one in a Westfield or something like that. They have about 320HP, but there is also a 400HP version.

Was in Atlanta several years ago at an ALMS round and that motorcycle (Y2k is it?) was there doing some demos. There was also the coolest looking old pick up there as well, 1950's Ford I think, that was also turbine powered.
I asked the guy, who I understand was the designer, whats it like to ride.
It basically went
start engine and get it warm, then pull in clutch engage gear (theres only 1) let it out and off you go. He likened the acceleration to a Hayabusa in second on wide open throttle but only ran out when you ran out of bottle. Or road!

Rover made a turbine powered car waaaay before any of this lot! Unsurprising really as they were heavily involved with RR and jet engine development during WWII.
