I cannot spell at all as you can tell by my postings smile
But on Windows XP using Outlook Express 6 I noticed a grayed out spelling button...So how do I activate it?

BTW: Although I use Firefox I do not like Thunderbird before you ask.

IIRC, spell checking in OE is only available if you have Microsoft Word installed as Word shares it's spell checker with OE.

If you don't have Word installed and need a freeware spell checker then try this:

http://www.justlocal.com.au/clients/oespellcheck/

(toward the bottom of the page under the heading "Programs".)

You will need to install the main program (spell.exe) then the UK language patch (SCO patch.exe) to get the UK, Canada, Australia compatable dictionary.

I've been running the US language version for a few years now and it works great.
