One has just come up for sale quite local to me... I've seen a decline in insurance work etc., but wouldn't mind going in for a venture... A worthwhile investment?

I've heard that big body shops have profit margins of around 10%, that might be a poorly run one though.

Why is it for sale?

Get to see accounts - for at least the past three years and as up to date as possible.

I own an insurance approved bodyshop so I'm probably in a pretty good position to give you the lowdown on the market. Ask away and I'll endeavour to answer.

BTW Any bodyshop thats making 10% in the current market is doing pretty damn well. 3%-6% is closer to the industry average for an insurance dependent bodyshop. Which is why volume counts.
