Just been out to get the car out of the garage, but the engine won't fire. The engine is turning over and the immobiliser is definitely off. Last night I started the car to reverse it out of the garage and about an hour later started it to put it back in. Castle have said if the engine was flooded it could take up to a day before it will start. Any ideas (before I see if I can get a correct set of plugs from Halfords). I will be severely p**sed iff if I miss the Mid-Essex meet tomorrow.

There's a possible fix for this on another thread...about taking out the fuse for the fuel pump relay (see owners manual for which one), trying to start the car, and it'll burn the fuel in the engine without pumping anymore in....after a few seconds the engine will die (no fuel), then reconnect the fuse and start it up. www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=38938 Read the whole thread.... Good luck and let us know... BTW, have you already pressed the reset button in the boot where the cans of tyre weld are located? LB

Don't forget to replace the coil fuse with a 20A replacing the measly and vulnerable 15A (or even 7.5A) fitted originally. Oh, and carry a load of spare fuses of all ratings as experience says that there will be others that go - especially if you don't have a replacement to hand!
