As its getting hotter and the blower on my 92 griffith does not seem to work terribly well I took a look today and found what appears to be a flap of leather, under the bonnet on the n/s front wheel arch which looks like it has something to do with the blower vent. The blower obviously vents from this point and then tries to blow cold air into the cabin. The flap has obviously fallen off and I am not sure how to refix it. Is it stuck down to seal the vent or what? Also can it be correct that it appears to vent from one of the hottest parts of the car near the radiators. Any help on this would be appreciated.

On the early cars that strip of leather is used to seal up the engine bay from the blower ducting.
I used Dunlop glue and sealant to ensure it was sealed.

ps. its doesnt vent into the engine bay, thats where your leaking blower air is finding its way in.

Thanks for that but I am confused. What is the leather strip there for? If they are covering the holes up why were the holes cut in the inner wing in the first place? Were does the blower actually draw its fresh air from if not from these holes? So many questions so much confusion!!!!!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you look inside the (removable)grill that sits below the rad..on the nearside wing you will see the opening for the fan inlet..

basically air is drawn up from here and forced along the inner wing until it gets to the passenger footwell.

its much easier to see the fan motor etc with the near side lightpod removed...!!then again..
