Having looked through a multitude of job search sites and not finding anything that a) I am interested in or b) I could get, I'm throwing this out to the brains of the PH collective.

What I'm looking for:
Job: Marketing, events, automotive industry (not sales), Computing industry (again, not sales)
Location: Central Scotland, London, South Coast or pretty much anywhere in Europe.

What I offer:
25 years old, Economics & Finance degree from Strathclyde Uni, ran my own business, worked for someone else doing marketing and loads of other stuff that you can find in my CV.

If you are up for the challenge then pm me and I’ll send you over a copy of my CV! I'm more interested in finding an interesting job or a good company than I am of getting great wages.

Offers of jobs would be great but I’d really appreciate suggestions and any contacts that you can send me too. The winner will definitely receive many beers smile

Well I do know what I want, I just need to find the right company to work for. I enjoy most aspects of marketing and most aspects of working for a small company. I like the idea that when working for a small company you get to experience/influence other aspects of the business rather than just your primary responsibility. What I am lacking is any contacts outside Scotland. I use job websites like brand republic and Michael Page but they are generally advertising for large multinationals or marketing agencies. As much as I would like to work for an agency, I don't seem to have what they are looking for unless I go for the very lowest positions (£16k in London...don't think that will work).

So basically: small companies in automotive, computing, charity, tourism or anything that isn't too technical (not sure I could help with bio science but I’d give it a go), I'd like to make you more money! If you just want some new ideas then get in touch too and I’ll see if I can come up with anything.

Right, so you want to work in marketing for a small business.
Well start off using the web to find your target companies.
Once you have found a few "ideal" target companies, start to
research their products/marketplace. Then ask yourself "how can
I help grow this business". Once you have the answer find out who
the MD is and write a letter, telling him what a great business he
has and how you can help him grow it.
Thanks Kevin

Been doing this for a bit so was just feeling a little disheartened. Time to have another go!
