Morning all,

EDIT !!!!!
http://www.lotus-on-track.com/various/fepo/ has been setup by LOT to provide a nice friendly booking page and DOESNT require paypal smile

So to book on the front engined Porsche trackday @ Bedford Autodrome (full GT circuit) on the 16th of February please send a paypal payment of £99 to paul@lotus-on-track.com with reference to trackday on 16th @ Bedford. You will then recieve a confirmation email from Paul and final instructions a few days before the event. Check out http://www.lotus-on-track.com for details on the circuit etc etc.

There is no specific meeting point for front engined porker folk but ill be there bright and early in a Blue 968 Club Sport reg K277 RMR and would be glad to meet you so please come and introduce yourself Email me on phil @ marshalsea dot com if youve got any issues!

Some disclaimery information. Im organising this with the sole intention of getting more porkers on track. I have no affiliation with lotus on track apart from being a member of their club and having done numerous trackdays both here and abroad with them. They will take your money you become their customer therefore any complaints please direct to them or read their website.

For track day newbies you will need you driving licence (both parts) and a helmet (available to hire). I would also recommend doing some instruction. I shall get details but normally its 10 quid for a 20 minute slot. Make sure your car is roadworthy, oil, water, brake and air all up to the correct levels. Pay attention to the driver briefing start slow and get quicker

Length: 4.1 miles
Noise limit: drive by - 101 DB static & Drive By - 87dB at 20m
Format: open pit lane
Price: £99
Instruction: £10 for first place (£15 for additional slots and on the day)
Crash Helmets: can be hired on the day for £20
2nd Drivers: limited to the first 15 people notifying us of a 2nd driver name*
Driving licenses = you must bring a full license which will be checked at sign on

  • 2nd drivers - Bedford is the only circuit we have this policy due to the large number of 2nd driver requests here.
PLEASE NOTE BEDFORD AUTODROME IS A NON SPECTATOR VENUE. Dur to the lack of spectator facilities we have to limit each driver to 1 passenger or specator - exceptions can be considered please email us. Children under 16 are also excluded from the circuit, if you have any questions on this please email us. Bedford is the only circuit we have this policy.

Think thats about it look fwd to it

Phil

ps. Mods any chance of a sticky for a couple of weeks???

Will you be inspecting the cars to determine where the engine is or will you take our word for it? smile

There will be full scrutineering including checking that water features in the cooling system in some fashion smile Its not exclusively front engined just trying to get more out for this one wink There will be lots of mid-engined fibre glass tubs kicking about to!

Absolutely its been arranged with the fact that this might be some people first time on track. Like i say carry out some pre track day inspection on your car, start easy and build up the pace. Bedford has lots of run off if you mess it up. Of course trackday insurance is recommended!

Just had a look at that website. Us Porsche guys are being shafted when it comes to club track days. I know this is a topic that rumbles on and on and on, but these lotus guys have a couple of tracks in France I would really like to do and one is a double header at 2 different tracks for 150 bloody quid!

Could they create a special alien section for front engined pork? not worried about that rear engined lot they like to spend mega bucks on everything. It makes em feel more worthy.

£99 for a day at the Bedford GT circuit sounds like value for money to me.

As for France days, they're (almost) always far cheaper than the UK. Mainly due to the (lack of) regs.

Anyone remember Folembray? smile

Bump service..
Also don't forget this is open pit lane & 2nd drivers allowed for first 15 applicants. Sounds damn good value to me. See you there..
