HEy, about half way through my site and I just wondered if you could give me some feedback on the color. The site is www.weekendgolfer.co.uk . I think it looks to dark but im not sure?

Yep, too dark.

It looks great apart from the colour, so swap all the greys for greens and you're in business!

Hi

Would definately agree that it is too dark. It all kind of fades in to one big grey mass. Needs some colour, something to draw the eye.
Not technical with this sort of stuff but try making the ball and grass at the top in colour, or the links on the left a bit jazzier but still sophisticated, or try playing round with the text in the middle so it doesn't look like a long passage of writing, people are lazy and don't want to read lots or what looks like lots!

Probably no help at all but its my two penneth!

Not dark, just very drab.
The grey isn't necessarily bad — try using the ball on the grass in colour instead of B&W.
Colourise the left hand panel, and both the strips top and bottom of the picture.

I agree, a wee bit too dark.

I was bored this morning and thought I should really refresh my web-design skills, since being on holiday for over two weeks so decided to have a little play with your site (well, completely re-written the html and re-design), hope you don't mind.

The image at the top was taken by me, so there's no copyright issues with it. Also, your paragraphs can be doing with being shortened a touch, it's very difficult reading long paragraphs on the internets. The amount of text is fine, it's just the length of some of them. There's also a few typo's, I fixed the ones I noticed, but it's worth while running the text through a spell checker.

If you like it I can send you a zip of the whole site.

Cheers,

Neil.

p.s. I didn't add the google ads in, they spoil the site, but if you would like them give me a shout and I'll see what I can do..

p.p.s. Just noticed you have a free hosting, hence the google ads, get yourself some proper hosting mate, it's not expensive at all.

Such an improvement - well done Hawkeye.
Would add that the main photo could do with being changed randomly rather than the same one on each link page.
Also the graduate background - I'd swap it top/bottom, and have the fade area lengthened.
Nice work on the Lessons selection panel.

2nd site looks better, nothing worse than going to a site and finding it grey with no colour / imagination smile

tip Scotmove, ditch the free hosting. I hear register1.net are good, and they advertise on here.

My clean, valid, xhtml is now no longer grumpy
