Hi guys/girls. Now and then on my cerb the wipers come on intermittent setting even when I havent turned them on and then refuse to turn off even when I have gone through the settings to off again. A friend suggested it was a park sensor in the motor and this was duly taken apart but appeared to be working fine and reassembled only to have the fault reappear 1 wk later. Could this be a fault with the switch/ribbon cable or?? Suggestions or better still remedy please as I resorted to pulling the fuse the other day.

Well if it is the ribbon cable then it's easiest to check. Alan wrote last year:

..take the steering wheel off and check the ribbon cable, Prise off the TVR badge in the centre (it's only stuck on) undo the single large bolt in the centre with a 17mm socket, and pull the wheel off, the ribbon cable is spiralled round the inside of the hub, its about 6 ft long, and will just fall out and unwind itself. Check the whole length of the cable, if there are any bare wires showing, cover them carefully with insulating tape. Then check the cable connections on the wheel and in the wheel hub, and check all the buttons work before re-assembling.
To reassemble wind the cable back up, and put the wheel back on, fiddly but you will work out how to do it. Before you bolt the wheel back in, wind the wheel round until to tighten the cable. when it just starts to feel tight wind it back the opposite direction 2 and a half turns, then push the wheel back on and tighten it. (winding it back is to give enough frr play so you can actually turn the wheel onto full lock)

I supose the alternative is: http://www.bespectacular.co.uk/?gclid=CO715_eP24sC...smile
