Since buying a new laptop with Vista Home Basic I have been trying to synchronise my PDA , which has Windows Mobile 2003 on it, with my laptop with the uploaded Windows Mobile Device Center as advised by Microsoft so that I can back up & Sync my PDA but without success!! It keeps showing the following sync error 'Synchronisation could not be completed'.

I used to have XP on my old laptop and used ActiveSync which came with the PDA which worked fine but for some reason it won't sync on with the Windows Mobile Device Center which is supposed to be the replacement software for ActiveSync on Vista!!

Any IT techies out there who can help me or if anyone has come across the same problem and managed to resolve it, your help would be much appreciated?

My PDA is a Navman PiN300 by the way

Thanks

You need the latest version of Windows Mobile Device Centre (6.1) which can be downloaded here (32-bit version, link for the 64-bit version is at the bottom of the page if needed):

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?fa...

This isn't automatically upgraded by Windows Update apparantly rolleyes

thumbup Thanks for that.

I think I may have downloaded 6.1 already but will try again. How do I know if I need the 32-bit or 64-bit version?

Cheers

The version of Vista you have. But go with 32bit. There are not that many 64bit laptops about.
