Dear all Chimaera owners

The 2008 Chimfest is on its way and I am hoping to be able to give you more detail which will include a date and location shortly. However we need a logo for the 2008 Chimfest for T Shirts and Caps and Mugs as well as any thing else we have think of.

To any budding artist or cartoonist amongst the owner please come forward. Your help would be greatly appreciated we need a cool logo for the feast.

Regards

Goose

What about your profile picture of your beautiful Chimaera in the disabled parking bay - just the right mix of style & humour! laugh

Or my sister who is a commercial artist might have something suitable - she does a lot of work for hairdressers.

Can the event be renamed as part of the rebranding? No disrespect at all to the efforts in organising the previous events but it's not the snappiest name in the world is it?

With tongue firmly in cheek, I offer up 'Chimps tea party' as a starter for 10 hehe

Seriously, let's lose the 'fest' bit as that is sooo archaic and doorstop shaped evil

What about the title of an old David Bowie song "Drive-in Saturday"? (Is it on a Saturday?!)
Or perhaps "Something for the weekend" (if it's over 2 days)
Come to think of it "Drive-in Chimaema" has got a ring to it.
biggrin

The reboot worked then, I'm reading English again type
Quite like Chim Chase but why should we have to follow those Griff guys - we'd never hear the last of it argue
What about simply "The Gathering" since we'd be coming from far & wide. It's also from one of my favourite films - Highlander. And as Argoose is arranging it, what better tribute! smile

I would have thought ChimingLingus was a more natural progression, but then again are you trying to attract the same 'market fragment' as they are tongue out

Kimball
1) A saucy actress in Hellraiser.
2) It is an authentic methodology (dimensional modelling).
3) Best chance you will ever have to get Grifters (and a few Chimsters yikes) to pronounce the name!

Too much for a logo? people always ask what a Chimaera really is...

I thought a Chimaera was a mythological creature as well, but Wikipedia lists Chimaera (spelt Chimaera) as a as fish , and as a mythalogical creature when spelt Chimera.

Slightly of topic, but we wouldnt want to get the logo wrong would we.

(Perhaps either the old TVR marketing dept or writers of Wikipedia cant spell ?)

Is Wikedpedia part of the Bliar media empire?

I would rather trust http://www.theoi.com/Ther/Khimaira.html for an explanation. I guess Homers work is well enough known to authenticate things.

Now that's a good idea for a logo - brings out the heavy-metal fan in me.music

idea Perhaps someone could morph a Chimaera (car) in there somewhere, or have the beast prowling beside a car.

If we adopt "The Gathering", we could have a few of them around the place.
