AP Racing for the UK roads - no dust seals on the Wilwood as I understand so all that crap they put on our roads cause havoc with them unless you are using it as a daily driver and keeping them clean. Or if you've got a cv8 bung some VXR stoppers on for an instant improvement and 2nd hand, hell even new sets can be had for a lot less than the AP/Wilwood options.

I have APs and they are ace, never fade and pull up very quick for a big car. would recommend!!!
Ditto - some people have had issues I understand but so long as you run the pads in and look after them (ie - clean them regular) they are brill! Never faded yet and I have tried very hard!!?!? 2 grand on brakes? If your car is a CV8 the best upgrade for road use would have to be a set of VXR stoppers with the pads/fluid from monkfish. A lot cheaper in the long run. I have no doubt the AP's are fantastic but I seriously question someone saying they need them on the road - also there has been the thread on the discs rusting badly if not used when it is wet.

I agree they are not cheap but no proper brake kits are and I did say you need to look after them. Like many "upgrades" you cant just fit and forget like you can OEM parts. As for use, I bought the car to use hard when I do actually drive it, be that track days or hard continent driving and Im sure I would have killed the standard setup by now - try jumping on the brakes hard from over 170mph cos some Fench idiot didnt look in his mirror before pulling out a mile before he got to the truck he was looking to overtake! Doubt the standard setup would have copped with that alone so Im sold on them. S600VXR said:

I agree but got to 189 afterwards before I decided 200 was not going to happen with cars in the distance... see I am sensible.
How much road did you use to see 189?What do you recon you`d see in 1.5 miles?

What a the cost of replacement from VXR disks and pads these days? Last time I looked it was slightly heart stopping from the disks! (i.e. more expensive than AP).
just get them from PBR, slightly less heart stopping and I believe you can skim the vxr ones tooGassing Station | HSV & Monaro | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
