Wondered how this site paid for itself (I just assumed you were a member of McNab/Clive Zertec/Bernie Ecclestone's international cartel) obviously the company firewall (Crunchbox) kills the ads!
(I think others have had probs with ads-this could be the explanation)

Well ok, it is now funded by advertising, it was initially funded out of a wedge of cash from my pocket. Luckily I've turned it into a business as it was an expensive hobby!

Ted you are doing a grand job.

BTW does running this site get you press style test drives in lots of fancy cars?

Fancy test drives? I've had a go in a few nice cars but having come into this from a different industry I've not had the contacts or known the ropes for securing the jollies that scumbag journos are known for

That's why it's been good to hook up with Graham Bell and Robert Farago who have got access to more exotic machinery for us to read about.

It's getting easier to build those relationships with manufacturers as the site gets better known but conversely I can't afford to spend as much time out of the office any more. Not complaining though - it's a lot of fun taking on the big boys in publishing with such minimal resources.

P.S. Thanks to everyone for spreading the word (i.e. doing my marketing) - I'm hoping the site will hit the magic number of 100,000 unique readers this month (93,000 last month).

Ted

I see on another thread that you're sorting some windscreen stickers. How about some assorted sized ordinary stickers - for tool boxes, race cars etc.?

There's quite a few of us whose cars spend a lot of time with race number backgrounds stuck to the doors (330 x 610mm FYI) which could be a good source of publicity.

Sounds good! If I'm happy with the quality I'm getting from this supplier then I'll get some other shapes/sizes made up.

I don't know why - people have the ability to remove their adverts if they wish without any intervention from me.

Guess they sold it?
