Anyone used this from Akasa?
I must be doing something wrong, but when applied between a E6300 CPU and the Intel Heatsink and fan the temp of the CPU creeps up to 90c degrees, until the mobo (Gigabyte P35 DS3L) shutsdown until the CPU has cooled down.
remove the tape so it's metal on metal and the temp is stable around 55c degrees.

Is the thermal adhesive tape crap or am i doing something wrong, i think that i should have stuck with the paste instead.

I bought some once as I thought it would be easier to use than the paste, took a look at it, wasn't impressed, went with the paste instead. I'd expect better results than that, though. Did you get the right size for the cpu?

Never used tape - but if you do use paste, make sure not to use too much...can make it as unstable as not using enough

Jim,
You need to cut it to size. It was correctly cut, but i found it didn't work, as if there was no cooler there at all!
Will get the paste tomorrow and apply a thin layer instead, for future ref, you may want to steer clear from the tape.
