Any jaguar technicians here?

hi all, are there any jaguar trained technicians here as im having a few problems with an s type 3.0 v6, wouldnt mind picking someone in the knows brains if poss.

right ok mate, well i have an s type in at the minute, 3.0 v6, 2000model year. comes in with a missfire bringing up VVT sensor retarded on bank 2. another lad looked at it and diagnosed the engine breather hoses collapsed, so i spent 3 hours yesterday fitting new ones, turn the key and its exactly the same! the above mentioned fault is the only one in the memory and if you clear it, it doesnt come back. any ideas? or do i need to get on the phone to the jag tech boys?

HA HA, I should of kept quiet at the back !!! Is the car actually misfiring ?
Or just bringing up the code ? Is it going into limp home/ fail safe mode ?

no mate it was missing (running like a bag of sh**) got it all sorted now, vvt solenoids block up if the oil isnt regularly chnaged. cheers though
