Ok I have a Triumph TR7 2.0L in standard form ( almost )

My problem believe it or not is getting a good garage to tune it

You know a good old school mechanic

I have spent a good few pounds putting it into so called experts to be disappointed and

having to re adjust things to get it to run properly.

So I am looking for recommendations of a good mechanic that knows what twin carburettors are.

In the Glasgow area if possible.

Thanks

Raffles

There is a fantastic guy in Lochguilphead who I take my car to when I can.

Bob Henderson at Minnow Fish Carbourettors. He holds the non-US patent for the Fish Carb so knows his stuff. He is the proper old-style real deal, he's worth his weight in gold. Last time I went in there he was working on an E-type. He was the guy behind the Argyll supercar.

Sounds good unfortunately that is a 2.5 hour drive for me

I would like a little bit closer to hand if possible

Although at this rate it is not out of the question

Try Allens in Crossford out on the clydeside road, between the Popinjay hotel and Lanark.

The guy who owns it is an ex Hillclimb champion, who runs Lotus Elans etc, and is a serious magician when it comes to Dellortoes and Webers of all types. Anything a bit 'Classic' he is just brilliant with.

He's not expensive either smile

Try Andersons in Chapelton, about 20 mins south of Glasgow, number is 01357 300233 and ask for Robert Anderson or Bob Ballantyne. Alternatively, there's Robinson Tuning, a Webber specialist with their own rolling road, near Uddingston.

Try B M motors in Law village. Davy is a BMW specialist, but he used to be a Triumph chap in his younger days so may be able to help. 01698 375146.
