I thought the F1 display impressive as a turnout, and the idea of being in the pits good, but somehow it just didn't seem to work for me, a bit sterile.

Overall the show seemed a bit "down" on last year, but I can't put my finger on it.

Stand totty superb as always, my vote going the the girls on the Seat stand, who, apart from being cute, were very smart and funny.

I really enjoyed it this year.

Key points:
- Some really rough birds on display
- the pistonheads area was a nice addition for some exotica
- live action arena was a fun 45 minutes of non stop action
- some really good stands

Like it is every year, it was exactly the same as the year before.

Same stands, same places, basically the same stuff on display, year in year out.

The only difference was that there seem to be even more chav 16 year olds working in the industry. I showed up five minutes before the STi launch (heaven forbid, I'm actually working) and couldn't get near the bloody thing. It really pisses me off that I can't do my job properly because of a bunch of ing children constantly standing in front of my camera and badgering the people on the stand who I need to talk to.

I'm not angry with the kids - if someone had offered me the chance to go to a show on 'Media-my-arse' day, I would have jumped at the chance. It just winds me up that Haymarket don't properly control who can attend.

So agree Mr Kipling - it was the same last year. I went on Thursday this year, TRADE ONLY it states, loads of stuff to fill in on the internet to get the trade pass, referees, who you supply to etc etc, and what do we find??

The whole show teeming with spotty Birmingham schoolkids having a day out. Getting in the way, photographing each other with the girls on their mobiles, intent on getting as many freebies as they can carry.

It's a complete nonsense to call it Trade Day - who lets these kids in?

Was there on the Thursday so unfortunately i missed the PH show, but overall i quite enjoyed it. I agree with the comment about chavs in the industry, even on a trade day they were swarming the alloy wheel and subaru stands... The engineering section was good as it was nice and quiet so there was no queuing to chat to people. Overall though, i thought it was on a par with last year, would have been better if i had been there when the PH area was open.

I went Thursday, too many oiks, but the engineering halls were great and relatively chav free.

Armin Scwartz had his All German Motorsports Baja buggy on display, claiming a BMW engine, although it was clearly an LS Chevy engine.

Totty - the best in my opinion were on the Track & Race Cars stand from Friday. Far too many of the others classified as Bobfocs.

The show itself as imploded in terms of exhibitors compared to 2006, and as it's spread over a greater area..... There were a lot of cars dotted around the place, dragged in at short notice to make it look more interesting.

As for oiks lurking around, well many of those are the race engineers of the future, coming from the colleges. Though most of them were more interested in the "products" on display at the Team Dynamics stand, than things technological.

Friday - the Piston Heads show - sorry. Did nothing for me.

I guess a bit like the "My lathe is bigger than your lathe" show on Thurs/Fri to those who live M3/R8/etc...

I shall go next year, as it's more of a social event for me these days.
I might even have my own stand there in the engineering section. Who knows.
if they drop the prices a bit to attract more exhibitors!
