MoS2 Grease for clutch
Discussion
Afternoon,
Gonna replace the clutch in my porker 968. Various internet insturctions refer to MoS2 grease for the splines of the new clutch and the splines on the end of the driveshaft. Ive got a feeling this is an american grease can someone recommend a uk alternative and supplier (preferably online)
thanks
Phil

STOP!
Be very careful about greasing clutch splines.
Having looked at numerous failed clutches as an Engineer working for a big car manufacturer I can honestly say most people are prone to grossly over-greasing.
This will trash a clutch or clutch damper in no time at all.
You want to derust the gearbox input shaft splines and clean them thoroughly.
Then add the specified grease and work it into the splines. Then take some kitchen paper towel and wipe off all the grease until there is only a tacky film left on there. That is enough grease for all the components, any more will fly off and get in the damper or on the friction surfaces.
