Hi guys,

I have about £20 to spend on amazon (returned xmas gift = credit) and I'd like to buy some books. I'm looking for success/get rich type books. Recently I've read Rich Dad, Poor Dad, some Brian Tracy and various biographies.

Does anyone have any recomendations? I'm a Mortgage Broker by trade and want to buy some books to help me be successful in my career (and life).

Cheers,

Nick

Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki is a good read. There is a whole series, but I have only read the first one. Just about to start number 2. Not going to get you rich, but is an interesting read.

Richest Man in Babylon is always recommended but I started reading that and it was a bit heavy for me so put it down

7 Habits of highly effective people - again quite heavy reading, but I got a bit further with it so i'm considering it a work in progress not a complete failure.

This comes highly recommended at the moment - not only for the message, but just for the sheer character of Dennis (get rich AND an autobiography smile) It's been in my Amazon basket for a while, but got such a pile to get through, I've banned myself buying any more until I've cleared my shelf smile

Felix Dennis How to get Rich. Great book written by a guy who has done it - not a 'lifestyle guru'.

A Random Walk Down Wall Street.

It will ensure you don't fall for the get rich schemes peddled in the other books.

Just read Rich Dad, Poor Dad and it's a good read; if a bit lacking in actual substance. I think I'm going to read The Cashflow Quadrant next http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cashflow-Quadrant-Guide-Fi...

Going to read the Felix Dennis book after I have finished this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Getting-Things-Done-Stress...

You could try 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/7-Habits-Highly-Effective-...

If you can put up with the slight Americanism of it and a few references to Church it’s pretty good and does give some useful ideas and ways of looking at things.

It was recommended to me by a consultant we use who charges us £110p/h - it seems to have worked for him!!

How to Win Friends and Influence People - Dale Carnegie

Everyone should read this book! Great wisdom from way back in the 1930s but still very relevant today.

I got given the Duncan Bannatyne book for Xmas, not read much - mainly the bits about Dragons Den - but seems interesting enough. It isn't full of "I'm oot" either, which was nice.

Some people might think the book is a little childish but its " Jonathan Livingston Seagull"

I have ideas and know how to make money but thi sbook made me think how to apply myself to acheive it without getting too heavy, I havent read any of the other books mentioned but if any are American self help type things that totally switches me off !

I read this whils ton holiday and could not put it down, he is a genuine person who describes his rags to riches tale in a way that is so easy to digest. Would def recommend this book.

You could do worse than read "The Shorter MBA" A Practical Approach to the Key Business Skills, by Barrie Pearson and Neil Thomas.

Whislt not nearly as entertaining as Banntyne and Dennis esq. I doubt if either would argue that the majority of the content isn't highly relevant if you're serious about making a few quid.
