Just booked it in to have all this rust sorted..
Developed loads over winter. Pretty poor show for a premium saloon despite it's advanced years, but thought I'd get it in before it got too nasty. Good as new soon Guys at the shop were very complementary about the condition of the car!

E39s are notorious for rust. Wheel arches, sills, jacking points, boot and behind the rear bumper, bonnet, doors ... everywhere really! Much of it does not show until you start looking carefully for it.RichardM5 said:

Shame really. When I purchased it two years ago it was very clean, you could see slight bubbles.. nothing like the above.
