My original ones are caput so I though about upgrading them to one piece - has anyone got them - any views - how much and where can I get some

Any info appreciated

You don't have any choice as they old two piece ones are not available. Change both sides.

Has anyone fitted the replacement wishbones from Peninsula? I understand that they are galvanised and tubular and was wondering whether they were more durable.

This was one of the first things I did when I got '92 Griff and it's one of the best mod's I've made so far.

the one piece items sharpen up the handling and remove much of what made the early cars wander around the road, the result is that the car becomes more predictable which improves the driving experience and reduces the need to make constant small adjustments.

well worth the money IMO unfortunately in my case it highlighted how bad the steering rack was so I had to have that reconned as well!!

they do still rust due to the proximity to the manifold nothing you can do about that.

PS make sure you fit the thrust washers as well - these were missing on the early cars and helped contribute to the vagueness.

Make sure that they don't foul the steering column stuff on suspension droop. The TVR wishbones have a bend to prevent this which the Peninsular ones didn't have. They may have addressed this though.

Totally by coincidence (possibly!) as I read the above post an ad for Peninsula was right next to the post! Spooky!

BTW also tell the insurers. This counts as a modification as the Peninsular wishbones are not the same design as the factory ones.

Just had the Chimaera in for service at Peninsula and spoke to Richard. They are having a new design of wishbones fabricated which should solve the problems previously experienced. Unfortunately he had none to show me this weekend but they are expecting delivery any time now.

The tubular wishbones are not galvanised but are powder coated. The advantage of the tubular design means that there are no sharp edges where the powder coating doesn't reach full thickness and break away early. However, Peninsula currently re-coat all new TVR OEM wishbones as standard to give full thickness PC over the entire surface. That and ample application of waxoyl or similar should keep them in good fettle.
