Off road hoon, anyone?
Discussion
Evening All,
Having picked up my new beastie - a '99 LWB Shogun 3.0 V6 - yesterday evening, I took the family out this afternoon to help me get it muddy down Wolvern's Lane on Leith Hill near Dorking.
What a laugh!!!
Who would've thought you could have so much fun with an internal combustion engine below 10mph! It's not even on proper tyres for taking it off road, but handled mud, standing water and traversing angles of 20 degrees as though it was happily trundling down the A3! Low ratios and lockable diffs make for a lot of fun!
Does anyone else in the area have anything similar lurking in their garage? Want to come out some time and get muddy? Nigel - want to get a brand new X5 off the nice folk at BMW? I've found a couple of places in Sussex which have planned routes graded for difficulty, marshals and the like which are open a couple of Sundays every month from 10-4. Drive as much as you want for £26.

Excellent!
One of the places I've been looking at is the owners' days run by John Morgan
Pictures of what they get up to!
Unfortunately I can't do next weekend. The February date might be possible, depending on when the baby arrives, or alternatively one of the days in March should be good.

I'm deff interested, mind you I have one of those SUV things so should be interesting....
They have graded trails, so we should be able to find something that we can all take a go at. White is for beginners with road tyres, red for experienced drivers with mud tyres, and black for experts with full roll cage and crash helmets!
