I have had a really anoying buzzy rattle for the last 3 years that has been driving me nuts...........I have finally located the problem, the charge cooler has lugs which locate in rubber gromets underneath nothing else holds it in place, no bolts....nada!

Crap bit of design i know mine did the same easy fix though.
After remapping mine had to fit uprated stabiliser mount from pumaspeed to stop it knocking again though!

The Chargecooler bushes are a well known weakness - mine have been replaced twice in three years! Easy enough to change, and powerflex now do uprated versions which will probably last forever. smile

As Mutton says, easy to replace just pull them out. If you dont get powerflex ones and go for Ford OEM then dont get RS ones as they are about twice the price of the normal Focus ones. Focus 1.6 / 1.8 / 2.0 airbox bushes x3 -Finis code.....7297583 Around £3 each. Disconnect the intercooler hoses before then when you refit them make sure the box doesnt move. You should be able to put your fingers between the intercooler box and the fuse box.

Its the bottom stabiliser arm bushes pumaspeed do a bush kit http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/showdetails.php?id=376

It stops the engine moving around so much which stopped the knocking again smile
