I've downloaded some stuff from the BBC i-player, which is wmv format. Can I change it so that I can play it on my dvd player, which has a usb input - i.e., download to pc, convert to dvd (whatever), copy to memory stick, and then plug memory stick into dvd player, and, er, play?

Yes the BBC iPLayer stuff is DRM protected but there are programs out there (free ones at that) that will strip the DRM off certain files. Its then a simple case of using a program like Nero to convert it to a dvd. Takes a while but does work. Not sure how good the quality of the iPlayer stuff is though.
