Hi chaps,

My girlfriend has a 2006 Ford Focus. She's got a lead to connect her iPod via the AUX input, trouble is, I can't find the AUX input. The CD player is a standard factory fit (err a Ford CD6000 I think), the AUX is not in the glovebox (as was suggested by another website).

Does anyone have any ideas where it is?

Many thanks in advance
James smile

it wasn't fitted to all models. Which one has she got? I've got an 05/05 brochure to check for you.

In my wife's 05/05 1.6 Zetec Climate with the 6000 6 CD it is located at the front of the glovebox, by the catch, a light grey square with a 3.5mm dia hole in it. You'll need a 3.5mm male to 3.5mm male lead - from maplins. Plug one end into the ipod the other into the car and select Aux on the radio. Wife uses ipod constantly.

Hi,

Its an LX model 2006. There is nothing visible in the glovebox at all...

So if you have any ideas pls send them this way...

You haven't got one. I haven't on mine '06 Zetec - was most disappointed, particularly as I was quoted £150 by the local (respected) audio specialists to fit one.

OK according to the '05 brochure it was an optional extra.

Std fit for an LX and all mother models except Titanium and studio - "Stereo Radio/CD - Model 6000CD, RDS, EON, PTY, Keycode anti-theft coding and 6 speakers (4 front, 2 rear)"

optional fit on all and std fit in Titanium - "Sony CD - Stereo radio/CD/MP3, CD, RDS, EON, PTY, MP3 compat, Keycode anti-theft coding, DSP, external AUX jack located in glovebox, 8 premium speakers (4 front, 4 rear)"

a further option is to have a 6CD version of the Sony CD.

So for an LX no Aux input. I think I'd talk to Halfords. There may be a line-in on the back of the head unit or an option that would work with all headunits is to use a ipod FM transmitter and tune the radio to it. Not very elegant but it works.
