Advice required from the SBS

Dearest SBS crew,

I'm considering going to a gig at the Carling Academy on Cowley Road, on Tuesday 5th of Feb.

Can anyone recommend where the best/safest place to park would be?

Bear in mind I have no idea of the area at all.

P.S. - For reference, in case anyone is interested - I'm going to see a band called Airbourne - basically the next biggest rock band - all in the vein of AC/DC. More info here: http://www.airbournerock.com/

I would think parking at Redbridge Park and Ride then bus it into the centre. You can either walk to Cowley Road (10 mins or so) or there are regular buses. As the area is residential there are very few parking spaces.

The gig [alledgedly] finishes at 11ish. Would the park & ride buses still be running then?

Nope, but the buses to Abingdon will stop 100 yards from Redbridge Park and Ride http://www.oxfordbus.co.uk/buses1.html

You can park behind Tesco in Cowley Road, although its not the safest, but will be very busy as people do tend to park there when there is a gig on. The park and ride will probably have stopped, or will only be running every half hour or so. There is some street parking near by, but be careful as some areas need permits. There is also a small car park in St Clements behind the Angel and Greyhound pub, this is about 15 minutes max walk from Cowley Road, shorter if you know the shortcut.

Between the 2 car parks theres 200 spaces - so bound to get spot in one of them!

Hmmm, would that be the same AC/DC that completely populates my CD changer?
