Anything is possible.

Cost is the main factor though.

have you looked at the supra box?? its lot bigger but also lot stronger and might even bolt staight on (only guessing). there is also the Nissan 300ZX and the T5 as used in the cossy and TVRs.

whats are you putting it in??

also didn't Toyota do a front rear drive using this engine???

thanks Chris.

i'm looking to build a robin hood project 2b. kit car. Which uses a ford sierra as o donor car, however i don't really fancy using the old pinto at the min and would rather use the 3sgte if poss.

It wont bolt straight on - or indeed- anything even close. Besides which the type N box was never really the strongest bits of kit.

That said of course the light weight kit car will lessen the stress on it and in theory it should be sound.

However, i cant help but think the nissan SR20DET engine will do what you want but be hugely cheaper than the 3S GTE engine. Theyre both equally as horrid as each other in terms of serious maintenance (but then turbos are really whatever the engine!)
Also ive a feeling that the 3S GTE exhaust will exhit a 2B body on the 'wrong' side (pax side) as opposed to the drivers side. I may be wrong on this. Have you considered the nissan engine? theres plenty of dead 200sx's out there but mr2/celica turbos are at more of a premium!

After a full day of research and clicking on hundreds of websites i've discovered that to use the 3sgte engine i would be better off using the LS200 gearbox, 6 speed and tough as they come. Easily 250bhp

With this gearbox i could also use the 3vz-fe engine from the Toyota Camry, 3.0 V6. Massive torque and so smooth. This engine could be twin turbo'd and produce 450 bhp easily.

Does anyone know of any problems with this setup or problems i might encounter??

Will the LS200 box be way to big to fit???

specifically id be worried about packaging. if it will physically fit however you should be ok. the chassis is pretty strong and the beauty of the kit of course is that you can alter etc when you make it.
id make sure you can cool such an engine however - the mouth of the 2b isnt so big and the front chassis members get in teh way of a big rad. if all thats in order then go for it! the camry is a good engine donor too!

A celica charge cooler should do the trick, however i dont intend on running massive boost pressures though.

Got a quote for the gearbox today at £265 delivered. Just need the mr2 turbo rear clip now.

Raw said if i gave them my gearbox they would modify the chassis to suit. And a speedy reply.

try theses guys : http://www.3sservicecentre.co.uk/ for a rear clip - theyve always been good to me in the past. Id be a bit wary about getting one pre clipped from Japan, you really wont know what you are getting!
