I was crawling around under the Griff at the weekend, and I noticed that both front tyres have 90% good tread all the way across, but both are showing signs of wear on the inside. Could this be something simple like the tracking (wouldn't surprise me given the state of the roads in the UK!), or is it more likely to be something like the shock absorbers on their way out? The car is 11 years old, and only done 46k, but I know they've got a limited life span. How much is it generally to have a set of front shocks fitted?

Thanks,

Dan.

Could be tracking but hard driving can cause the same problem because the car learns over onto the indise edges through corners or roundabouts. Worth checking the geometries if only for piece of mind.

Ah, hard driving.... That might have something to do with it then... I'll still get it checked out at the next service though, for peace of mind like you say.

Thanks,

Dan.
