I picked up my 'new' Jag yesterday. A 1995 XJ Sport 3.2. Fantastic stuff. Seems to tick all the boxes, ride, comfort, performance. And it just looks fantastic in light metallic blue. I have always fancied the big Jag saloons.

I paid £2,000 and the previous owner was a chap who works at the garage that looked after my previous Jaguar (XJS).

Needs a few bits and bobs (rear shocks, heater switch thingie and ariel) Otherwise it is in top order, feels very solid and tight. My dad is dead jealous!

Mmmmm. And to think I actually considered a BMW.

A good choice. The X300 shape is, IMHO, the best looking Jag XJ ever made. But then I would say that wouldn't I?
Having only recently got my X300 I'm loving it. Enjoy your car.

Hello RedBull,

I see you've had problems with CD changers in your XJ. What was the answer? My car has no changer and still has the original sound system, with the button marked 'tape/CD'. What model do I need? Is it an easy fit, where exactly does it go?

And yes, one strong reason to get the car was the fantastic looks. I wanted I car where I looked back at it after getting out. Even girls with no interest in cars at all love it.

Hi cml,
the Jaguar changers tend to go for a lot on ebay, considering they're all secondhand and now over 10 years old. I found that the Alpine CHM-S630 changer plugs straight in to the Jaguar connector and works prefectly. I managed to buy mine for just £48 delivered and brand spanking new on ebay. It doesn't fit straight into the Jag mountings though, I had to use a bit of inventiveness to install it. The fitment is up under the rear panel between the rear window and the boot lid. You'll see a few captive nuts there for install. It can be done quite easily though and considering the price difference it was well worth it. Bear in mind that most of the original changers I saw came without mounting brackets anyway. You'll also find the lead for the changer is already installed in your car and will be behind the rear bulkhead trim. I would recommend you do a search on ebay for CHM-S630 and shop that way. There is a seller who lists these as a Jaguar replacement for over £100 - you shouldn't need to pay that for one though. I see you are in the South West. If you are anywhere near me and fancy popping round to look at my changer install you'd be more than welcome. I am near Burnham-on-Sea and Weston-Super-Mare.
