How much to the city and back by train from S Woodham Ferrer

I'm moving into the area and may have to work in the capital so just wondered how much it costs to get there and back and how long each way. I'm sure a few of you must commute from South Woodham Ferrers to the city.

A few friends in South Woodham sometimes found it easier to drive to Wickford and get the train from there, it works out a bit cheaper as well (for the train anyway, not sure about car parking etc).
