Master cylinder

Het guy, please help me. Was out in the car today and everything was going well. Turned the car off for a few minutes and when I started her up again, the clutch pedal felt lighter then normal then had problems selecting gears.
Was in for a service the other week there and they said that the master cylinder was leaking. Is this consistant with my problems now?

Could anyone quote me a price of a new master cylinder.

I think they are £40 - £50

If it is the Master Cylinder seals (which you can see by looking for leaks behind the clutch pedal, from where the pedal actuates the cylinder) then the seals cost £7 IIRC, and the labour isn't long. Total for job shouldn't be more than £40-£50.

Fingers crossed it isn't the slave (more expensive).
