Some of you will recognise this Beetle from a shoot I did before Christmas, we said we would do a shoot when it wasn't raining and we got really lucky with the weather today. Alex's (the VW owner) girlfriend has a Mk1 Cortina and they really wanted some pics of them together too. So here we go, C&C welcome...

Very nice cars, and even better pics.

I really wasnt too sure if they were real cars or not in the first few pics.
I'm assuming that was the desired effect.

Nice... Tilt-shift lens, maybe? I love that "model" look... with the strange DOF-effects!

Fabulous pictures, but whatever is attached to the 'tina screen with a suction pad is really distracting for me.

What was it?

Thanks guys smile

I faked the tilt shift effect for the first one because as soon as I saw it I thought it looked like a model set.

I think the thing on the windscreen is a spotlight. There are all manor of period accessories on both cars.

I don't think that these are half as good as some of your other stuff you have done. They're nice but missing that certain something that you're so good at normally.

hehe

I'd have to agree, not your best work but still great to look at. The DoF effect is a bit overdone IMHO, front of the car is not in focus in 1,4,11 or 14.....

And if only to prove that it takes all sorts, I love 1 and 4 because the DoF gives that fantastic effect of them being toys! Saw an interesting tutorial in a magazine (I think) on how to achieve the same effect in PS; might have to give it a try.

The effect itself is quite interesting, I dont have a problem with it per se; its just that the focus is in the worng place for me - front of the car should be sharp IMHO....

LOL about the girl missing hehe

I deliberatley clipped the front of the car, in fact there is probably too much in focus to really push the effect. Have a looksee through this lot...

...and here's a tutorial on how to fake it in photoshop...

Nick - you've really raised the bar. Love the first few - AND you've made the logo a bit smaller... biggrin

Would 'shop out the office block in no 11 though. (I can't be 100% praise!)
