Looking for recommendations as to software that would suit a new estate agency. Cheers.

I might as well own up as no one else has. Are you starting a new business or taking over an exisitng one? Sales and lettings, or just sales? Feel free to e mail me if you prefer and I will try to help.

there are loads.. and loads.. and loads of software packages out there.
It depends on what your criteria is, just sales, sales and letting, etc.
Do you want the provider to host the data and run it over the web or would you rather do it locally?
Do you want to integrate the property search into your website?

We decided on universal last year. Not the most sophisticated but gave us the option the keep the data on our server, integrated a property search into our website easily and the support has been good when we've needed it. ...and it didn't cost 1000,s in initial set up.

The pcs-expo website has links to lots of software providers.

If you want to know more, feel free to pm me....

Not me but a colleague. It will be sales only, specialising in properties with investment and development potential, and land aquisition for developers.

Sorry for the delay in replying. There are many systems available. Order a copy of Estates Gazette or Estate Agency News. There is a good system produced by a firm called GMW (www.gmw.co.uk). I have actually been a member for several years of a group called TEAM which gives me links to 500 other estate agency offices across the country. As part of this I run and have maintained a very good all encompassing estate agency software package with full support and constant upgrades. It costs, but works very well for me although I have a general estate agency practice.

My brother is also in Sussex TEAM JulesV (Masseys in Brighton). Although I think he is getting out of it again anytime soon.

Small world. Why is it not working for him? It really helps us offer properties over a much wider area and whilst it has its faults I find it excellent. Helps in the constant battle with the corporate agents too!
