Always wondered what I'd do when one blew... rolleyes

Is the best alternative to order a pair of the MX5parts ones which you can change bulbs in?

I've got them, I replaced my Eunos ones due to the pathetic amount of light they could produce. Think of it this way, you'll actually be doing a mod to UK standard equipment and improving things.

Cool will order a pair tomorrow (when I've double checked that mine are in fact sealed beam and have not already been replaced!)

Thanks kinky!

How can I tell if they're sealed beam or not without taking them out? Want to get them ordered now...

The lenses are branded "Wagner"

The MK1 lights are incredably easy to change confused Put the lights in the up position, remove the plastic surround and two bolts hold the unit in place..... What's the problem?

http://www.boundville.co.uk/headlamp-unit-7-sealed... much cheaper from Autolink UK

Although MX5 parts give great service and prices are competetive have a look at Holden.co.uk and merlinmotorsport.co.uk. you might find a bit of a price difference.

Where are you located?

I've got a fully working spare that you can have - if you can pop in - I'm near Ascot.

Thanks K - that's a great offer, but to be honest the only time I have to use the car after dark is Tuesday evening over the next few days so hopefully it won't be too much of an issue. I'm in Bromley so it's a bit of a trek.

Thanks anyway!

Sod's law that the Saab is in the garage at the moment rolleyes

As Kinky said - dead easy! Less than half an hour in the dark wink

Be careful with the screws though, they WILL be rusted up, so be careful undoing them. In fact, worth letting some WD40 penetrate in first.

Had a quick drive in the dark (albeit on streetlit roads) and they seem a lot better!

Not that easy, I replaced my headlight lamps from mx5 parts and took the covers off and found the screws rusty and the rim absolutely a mess full of some sort of black sealant. Once I had put the new ones back on, the headlight lid scraped my bonnet and now its too close to the bonnet. Not lined up at all. If you look on the mx5 club forum under my posts shawtj2 you will see my piccies of the headlight lids. Ordered new rims now and so will have to take them out again soon and replace the horrible rims. Hopefully I will not damage the lid paintwork this time. Anyone know how to realign the lids???? Because I know no-body who can do it in my area, mazda garage know nothing about eunos's 'they said'. So now need a paint job also!
