Can you fit 15" subwoofer speakers in the ultima???

Ahh.. what a shame, the search function wont allow searches > 2 years and even in google it seems the old posts are not available.

Leo, there was a number of posts some time ago from a guy called Tuckshop that asked the same question. He ended up using woks installed in the rear bulkhead and mounted the speakers in there, the bottom of the wok faced the engine and worked as a heat shield and resonance chamber.

It seems his name is not listed in the directory any more, so you cant even email him to find out how he did it. Its a shame we cant find his posts, they would have served as an excellent reference for your build. It looks like the path you are taking is similar to his.

I crank up my stereo when I dont want hear the horrible sounding 1003 horses back there.

the more i see your posts mate the better i think you will be with a nice Corsa, the idea of an Ultima is basically a road legal race car so why would you want to partially destroy the power to weight ratio??

its easy, just be careful not to put the bolt through the wiring to your neon underpan lights or anywhere near the halfords vents and spoiler.

Easy... if you put a 600 cc lawn mower engine in rather than those silly SMC engines which take up lots of room, you could get loads of speakers in there!

Leo,

You should know that the Ultima is God's favorite car (and we His favorite people). I know the bible says that everything's forgiven if you believe his son died for our sins, but the bible was written many years ago and since then God's changed his mind a bit about what's forgivable and what's not, especially in relation to Ultimas (oh - and apparently going to war in Iraq)

You see, God (in His infinite wisdom) just cant bring himself to forgive people for Chavving out their Ultimas. There has only every been one person to put 15" subwoofers in an Ultima, and God was so upset that he sent forth a lorry to strike him down.

Since then Tuckshop has been banished from this place and now lives a life of torment.

Judging from the time of the post he must of been dreaming about Ultimas he then woke, nicked his dad's laptop and another apple dropped from the tree of wisdom!!

But I love it. I am getting a double massage - V8 and the subwoofer. And a bit of headache after each drive...

Subwoofer is behind the passenger seat, then 4 speakers, 2 at each side; Radio is fixed with special dampers beneath the roof in the middle... (couldnt find a pic)

Thats brings the magnet very close to the fuel tank. also it looks fitted in a slight angle
