Come one, come all, to Beefmeister's Magical Hair Styling Salon!......
Yep, the Clio 172 has gone, and has been replaced with a bit of summer fun:

Its an '02 plate TF160, with 27k on the clock, absolutely immaculate, HG and cambelt(s) done at 22k (precaution, not HG failure), has the leather/alcantara seats, and I bloody love it!
Drove it back from Northwich to Essex today, and i can see many miles more of fun over the coming months in it.
Oh, and the price? £5000.
Bar-gain.

i was going to call you a poof but you put the lid down
They're just the Auto Trader shots actually, but i did drive it all 220 miles home from Northwich with the lid down, it had to be done!!The heater's pretty good actually, and with a beanie and good jacket on i was cosy as anything at 80 on the M1...
I'm going to be taking some proper shots tomorrow.
Great cars. Had one for a week and it was way more fun than I anticipated. They seem to be susceptible to snap-oversteer though. and the interiors lets down an otherwise handsome roadster.
but they do have a tendency to blow head gaskets though. not a big deal, just inconvenient.
looks like a nice example. I would say a good deal was had but time will tell. How about a running report in a few weeks time when the new PH 'hairdresser' section has been created?

There are various things you can do to avoid the head gasket going anyway. Keeping a close eye on the coolant level being the obvious one, not over-reving the engine when it's cold being the other. If it's the same as my Elise, the VVC engine wont let you rev it over 4k rpm until it's up to temperature anyway.Looks like a lovely car, although I'm not a fan of the colour myself.

I've heard that the K-series gasket issue is exacerbated on the MGFs because of reduced airflow over the rad, owing to cars layout, but that's probably just gossip. I know when the HG started to fail on the GFs rover 216 (caught it nice n early), I found someone to do it for about £350 and he claims he fitted a revised steel gasket that is much more robust than the OEM part.
That'll be the later Landrover part and is meant to help substantially. Where is the MGF's radiator then? Back or front?
