Mint condition XR2i .... how much ?

Hi Guys, asking for a friend at work.

His elderly mother has had from new 84/85 ish XR2 in white, 17,000 miles, garaged, and in perfect condition.

He has asked me to value for him, I have said that as they made 20 million of them they are not particularly collectable, and the biggest problem is that the main audience for them would be youngsters that could not insure them.

I recon a normal car about £500 ish, and this one if it is as he says £2000 but only to the right person (XR club member ?).

Am I about right or are they worth something nowadays ?

I've seen concours cars sell for around 7500-8000, so given that it's original (assume, none modified) then you might be selling it a tad short.

It is of course worth what someone will pay for it, but I think he should get an idea from a Ford specific site TBH.

all the 'fast fords' have a big following

easily worth 1500 if it's in very good nick, good be worth more like you say to the right person/obsessive

Ebay sell them all the time in good condition for 1.5-3 so if its A1 then like stated 2k is not enough

Im guessing that it is a very straight std car, that would make the basis of a nice concours car.

Are they becoming a bit collectable now then ? and will they go the same way as the RS and mexico fords do you think ?
