Gearbox Overhaul In The NE

I've just bought an 95 Audi A4 TDI from my brother in law for a run around and it seems the gearbox is going, as it struggles to go into 3rd. Looking at the Audi forums it looks like the synchro. Does anybody know of somewhere in the NE that does gearbox overhauls?

oddly enough my brother is looking for a gearbox refurb for his 94 1.9tdi 80 avant after it got stuck in third earlier today on route to Elgin...
