The Mac thread made me wonder about making the switch to Opera from Firefox. I tried Googling, but most reviews are 1/2 years old and refer to outdated versions.

So, apart from 'I like it' what are the true differences and pro/cons?

i find it lighter-weight than FF

i also like the "gestures" feature. takes a while to learn and get used to, but once you have, using any other browser becomes annoying lol

There's no reason why you have to choose one over the other.

I have both - Opera for quick browsing and page-saving of my usual websites (eg. PH); Firefox for more heavy duty stuff (eg. anything where it's myriad plugins come in handy, eg. downloading youtube clips), or for the occasional page that won't format in Opera.

Firefox is slower and uglier which is why it isn't my default. I use Opera most of the time, but bear in mind most of my browsing is simple text-based sites (like this one).

It's kind of like having an MX5 and a Land Rover for two different types of driving. Though that's a really shit analogy.
