heavy steering
Discussion
at low speeds. Steering very difficult to turn and bringing the wheels back to straight ahead requires a fair bit of effort - indeed the car wouldn't straighten our without any intervention. Noticed this slightly about a week or so ago for a day, checked levels and were fine, a day later was ok. Anyone have any idea what it could be before I get in touch with the dealers?
Thanks in advance

could be the UJ joints?
I had a feeling of 'squareness' in the steering once.
THis was fairly cheap to fix (via APM).
Also - I own James Halls old car. It was an expensive job to replace the 'key', engine out I recall. I have all his old bills (all £35K of them!??!).

sounds definitely like the steering column UJ. had exactly the same on mine back in April, fixed (like Gazzab) by Andy at APM for grand total of about £70.
Look at the rear of the offside front wheel arch, and you'll see the upper UJ right in the line of fire of all the crud coming off the wheel - no wonder they seize up!!
easy fix, although you might want to look away when the big hammer comes out to remove the seized one!!
cheers
