Hi people

i currently have a subaru impreza wrx sti verion 1 wagon, i am considering getting myself a legacy gt-b though as we have just had a baby and could do with the extra space a legacy affords, but still want some performance.

Can anyone give me any ideas what to look out for, anything that is potentially expensive to fix, i'm assuming that it will be the same as the impreza as they are pretty much the same engine and running gear wise, but any help would be greatfully recieved.

thanks

Hi. Ive got one and its great.
2L twin turbo.
the 4 wd works well and its pretty spacious and comfy.
Even my misses likes driving it.
The only problem i had was the guy who had it before me had fitted a crap dump valve that made the idle hunt.
i replaced that and it was fine.
just do the normal checks you would with any car.

The sequential turbo setup can give a flat-spot between the boost ranges of the two turbos at just over 4000 rpm - drive a few of them to see, but generally the worse the flat spot is the more tired the car is. Drove a knackered one which felt like it almost died from 4100-4300 before taking off again, but a mate has a well looked after example which hardly drops away at all.
