Virus on my PC

Help please!

I am stuck with a problem on my PC. It seems to be infected with a rather annoying virus that throws up additional internet pages and also hijacks the page I am choosing from my favourites and replaces it with some advertising crap. How can I find out what the virus is. The annoying thing is that I am currently running Windows Defender, Spybot SD (the free one) and Norton Internet Security 2008 and still this damned thing comes up...

Any ideas how I can eliminate this annoying virus/malweare (or what ever it is called)

Have you tried starting your computer in safe mode (press F8 as it boots up), then running all the scans?

Then uninstall Norton. It is wank and a performance hog.

Use AVG or Avast with the windows firewall. Your router should have an 'inbuilt' firewall of sorts.

I had similar to this and was told it was a CoolWeb virus?? I used CWshredder from Trend to get rid of it, I think it was free to download.
