I can`t Blood+++ywell believe it. I tried everywhere including this forum to get update discs and gave up so ripped out the PCM1 and had a really good Becker unit fitted.
Cost me £700 but I get full post code capability plus Bluetooth and the best bit I sold my old PCM unit (Both bits) on ebay for £500.
I know some of you will say I gave it away but and the car is worth more with the old unit but I am keeping the car for at least 3 years and I prefer the modern functions of the Becker unit.

I can send you a disc if you want?
I have update software for PCM 2.1 and 10-2004, 05-2005, 05-2006 maps, I think Porsche are charging a silly amount (£500 IIRC) for this software update with out the maps, if anyone needs the update just message me and I can arrange.
I used this on my 987 boxster s and worked fine - I haven't tested on a 986 or 996 but I assume the software update works for all.

No it is has all it`s own functions built into the system like Bluetooth handsfree voice activated phone dialing directory etc. The fitting plugs are the same as the original PCM 1 unit as both are made by Becker so fitting is a doddle however had to move the heating controls and buy a trim surround and cabby hole shelf from Porsche (Total cost £22).Cost me £700 but I get full post code capability plus Bluetooth and the best bit I sold my old PCM unit (Both bits) on ebay for £500.

Absolutely brilliant unit also I now have 2 storage shelves in the dash, really useful. Also the unit is really fast in locating destinations.
I have fitted an ipod connector to the unit simply plugs into the multichanger plug. Really good .

I am borrowing a 2007 997 C2S at the moment and it has the same sat nav system as yours complete with TMC and post code search. When I said it has post code search I meant this in the loosest term.
You can only enter I think up to a 5 digit post code.
To do this in the first line when entering the town enter the post code instead. To be honest its not that good - I gave up with this and take the long winded approach and just enter the full address.
