i don't know ramsay. i want some work doing and had looked at his website but got no response to my email. i was going to go down there on saturday but looking at the pics and knowing how nice your guitars are gives me a lot of confidence.

i'll take some before and after pics if i go through with it, its quite a project given i can't play for toffee.
Look forward to the pictures!

I know an excellent guitar teacher in Dubai if you're interested. Happy to introduce you to Ramsay too.

Finally got round to finishing off my favourite wall in the house smile

From left to right:

Ozark Resonator
Squier Affinity Telecaster (1st guitar that I can't part with)
Fender Lite Ash Telecaster
Ibanez SDGR SR 300 Bass
Musima Classical Guitar (bought from a charity shop for £20)

The pictures are the five members of Deep Purple Mk2.

^^^^^ Nice.

Would look better without the straps though.

Yep, I've tried various different combinations and still can't decide on the right one.

Would be better with the straps off but the one on the resonator is tied on with a load of messy knots so it would probably need cutting off!

I remember playing a Lite Ash Telecaster in a local guitar shop years ago, it was a lovely instrument!

Korean made and Seymour Duncan pickups, right?

Wish I had bought one at the time!

It is indeed Korean and the pickups are Seymour Duncan.

I tried a couple of different Teles in the shop but the lite ash just felt... right. The Squier one is an excellent guitar for the price but there's a world of difference between them.

Fender Custom John Cruz Masterbuilt 60s Heavy Relic Strat in Surf Green. 3 year waiting list for the Cruz guitars.

Purchased from Coda Music. Arrives later this week.
Ohhh wow. You inspired me to have a look on their website. There's some wallet loosening master built's on there. Did you not fancy a Tele this time? That John Cruz '52 relic is sooooo tempting. Anyway, please take lots of pics when your new Strat arrives. Also, if it's not too much trouble, a comparison review with beautiful Daphne. smile

I don't think I will ever get this 'relic' thing.

I know other people do and it's good that they have the opportunity to have what they want, but personally it baffles me. confused

+1. It annoys me when I mark any of my guitars, particularly the nasty chip in my LP that I found when removing the pickguard. The screw or nut left a ding about 3mm across.

I don't mind if any of my guitars get marked or worn through playing them, as in my mind that is exactly what they are there for.

However I would get annoyed at myself if I bashed one through carelessness - thankfully that hasn't happened to any of the current ones!

I wouldn't buy a guitar because it was reliced, but I would also not be put off if I played a stunning guitar and it happened to be reliced. I was lucky enough to play a Collectors Choice 1959 Gibson LP in a guitar shop a few weeks ago, I will be buying one as soon as finances allow smile

It's like buying a pair of faded & worn jeans. They just feel so much better!

I do respect not everyone likes them.

I'm the same with my PRS guitars. Paranoid I will bump them or scratch them.

The advantage of the Relics is you don't get annoyed when you put a nick or dent in your guitar. It will probably make it more valuable ;-)

And they just look so much cooler IMO.

Nice collection dojo. Big fan of the Wampler pedals.

A pedal board is next on my list.
