I have 2 computers 1 connected to broadband (via USB & modem to Plusnet). What is the easiest way to get the other pc to see the internet?

Can I connect them via a cross-over ethernet cable or will I need a hub?

Thanks for help, I'm sure this is a bit basic for you lot

Crossover should work fine. Hubs are cheap enough and offer greater flexibility though.

Certainly if you have windows, and both machines have ethernet connections, then you just use the crossover, and enable internet connection sharing.

I seem to remember that both machines must be enabled for DHCP, if you want ICS to work. This might be a pain if you already have the machines connected by ethernet for other things.

A hub is good, but if you don't already have one, and you want a better solution get a router, where the internet connection goes into the router.

Youl'll never have to go through the connect to internet dialog again.

router would be the best option, but a crossover will work.
