Just wondering if this sounds about right?
I called up a Toyota garage for a quote and they said £1100 for the Cat Converter on it's own not including labour.

Considering I've never at a Cat change, I thought the figure was a bit of a piss take in all honesty...

Wow, Mr T really expecting you to bend over there!

I'd go to an an exhaust fitting place and get it done there.

Slightly O/T, why do people insist on going back to the manufacturers to get replacement mild steel exhausts when they go rather than getting a custom stainless guaranteed for life? Have never understood that.

I think its 'older' people really, who are a bit old school, and only trust main dealers, as if its like a sort of brand label. As if the main stealers only employ the top mechanics or something? rofl

My experience of "custom" exhausts (i.e. Powerflow) is that they are loud and st hehe

The point of a custom stainless exhaust is that you can specify the noise levels. I guess powerflow dont know the difference between quiet and loud.

What part of "specify noise level" is hard to understand? Surely thats the point of a custom exhaust, i.e. I want this bore, this back box style and a given noise level??
