Several times i'd had my car up on ramps in the garage. Firstly i would get a text to say my car was being stolen (obtuse angle of the car had set the tracker off), and then afterwards i'd get a call to confirm if the car is with me or if it had been stolen.
Very good actually and i was glad to get the call off them, confirming to me it actually works.

If you HAVE to have one for insurance, then get one, personally i'd look for an Insurance Company that doesn't need it. Cost£300+ £120-£130 subs per year so take that into account. Many insurances don't see the Value of "Tracking devices" and are not demanding or only giving small discount.
I'd spend it on Mechanical defences like big yellow steering wheel lock or Dipolock(sp gearbox lock) and anti- hijack.
TBH with a tracking device you will only catch a Dumb****, there can't be many Scrotum left on this earth who steals a Scoob or EVO and does not know a Trackers involved
I'm not giving anything away on an open forum to aid scumbags but that does mean most scumbags know far more than the people who pay the £100 subcription.
The last 8 Cars I knew were stolen tracking device was not acttivated. 3 I know of had the device was thrown from Car within 800mtrs of house.
My one mate was hijacked and had his arm broken, tracker device was activated and he got 5years in jail but most scoobs that go report "failed to activate" "No Signal".
Sometime the Technology seems to the buyer so advanced but in realitity for the some easyier to overcome than 99p bike lock

If my car was nicked and had the ar5e seriously ragged off it, it was involved in a chase causing damage, or the driver killed someone with it i would rather not have it back and prefer it to have been torched or smashed up beyond repair or never found.
However..... if it potentially helps the police nick some thieving scrotebag before he rags my car and causes irreperable damage or kills someone with it then i am all up for that. I had it fitted 3yrs ago and after the initial outlay all it costs me now to keep running it is £100 per year for a subscription. That's not a lot of money.
There aren't actually that many insurance companies out there that will insure it without a tracker, and those that do charge ridiculous premiums. IMHO, having had one for three years, and still keeping hold of my car after all that time, and the fact that when i have been working on my car and jacked it up, with the alarm off, it's still been triggered, that tells me it works just fine.
I use a big Fortress steering lock as a visual deterrent as well as not leaving my personal stuff on display, so i will do whatever it takes to put someone off nicking my car, but i like the peace of mind i get with the Tracker.
I'll stick with the tracker, and if it helps me get cheaper car insurance with certain companies, in the long term i will eventually get my outlay back in the money i save on car insurance premiums.

If you knew how easy it was to disable you my not pay the renewal fees of £120.
Mine took 45 secs to find and disable it, if I cut cables and not proud how I find it 1/2 the time
A electronic device for under the cost of Renwal. it could have been disabled 10-20ft before it reached the Car
